Aktivitas Antibakteri Ekstrak Kulit Batang Tumbuhan Johar (Senna siamea Lam) pada Berbagai Polaritas Pelarut

Johar plant is a type of from the Fabaceae family which widely used in traditional medicine such as malaria, itching and diabetes medicine. This study aims to determine antibacterial activity stem bark extract with different levels solvent polarity on growth Staphylococcus aureus Escherichia coli bacteria active compound class by TLC-Bioautography. The extraction compounds multilevel maceration method starting n-hexane (non polar), followed ethyl acetate (semi-polar) ethanol (polar) solvents. Antibacterial testing was carried out diffusion well concentration variant 25% 50%. results showed that n-hexane, acetate, had against two test bacteria. Ethyl at 50% were classified very strong antibacterials inhibition zone diameters S. aureus, 22.02±0.84 mm 20.16±0.23 mm, respectively. TLC-Bioautography three extracts E. coli. In n-hexane: (9:1) eluent using Lieberman-Burchard spray reagent, it suspected triterpenoid present. (6:4) chloroform: methanol (8:2) FeCl3 1% tannin present both extracts.
